On Saturday, 23rd August 2025, Ghana’s literary scene will gain a remarkable new platform as Lorgorligi Locomotion—the creative brand founded by poet and rapper Hondred Percent—presents Sage Poetry, a uniquely curated event celebrating Ghana’s top poetic talent.

The debut edition will run from 3:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. at E-Ananse Library, East Legon, featuring award-winning poets Nana Asaase, Nana Fredua-Agyeman Jnr, and Akotowaa. Audiences can expect an inspired blend of artistry, culture, and spoken word excellence.
Unlike traditional open-mic events, Sage Poetry will follow a structured two-hour format. The programme includes three featured poets performing two original works each, a heritage recitation honouring legendary voices from the past, and a poetic wrap-up capturing the evening’s essence in verse. This design promises an engaging, high-quality experience, while allowing the audience to interact with performers after the show.
“Sage Poetry is about quality, preservation, and connection,” says founder Hondred Percent. “We’re building an archive that celebrates Ghanaian poetry and inspires others to engage with it, both live and online.”
In collaboration with Stylus Innovation, every edition of Sage Poetry will be professionally recorded, archived, and shared via YouTube and social media. The goal is to create a lasting digital library of Ghanaian poetic expression, making it accessible to global audiences and encouraging cultural appreciation.
Tickets are available at GH₵100 per person, with limited seating. Early booking is advised. Sage Poetry will be held three times a year—in April, August, and December—each edition showcasing new poets and creative collaborations.
