The Asantehemaa, Nana Konadu Yiadom III, has passed away at the age of 98 after serving eight years on the throne. Her death was confirmed by the Oyoko family to the Asantehene, Otumfuo Osei Tutu II, during an emergency meeting of the Asanteman Traditional Council on Monday, August 11, 2025. She ascended to the position of Asantehemaa five years ago, succeeding her mother, Nana Afia Kobi Serwaa Ampem II.

As the second most influential figure in Asanteman, Nana Konadu Yiadom III was deeply respected for her loyalty, wisdom, strength, and commitment to tradition. While details surrounding her passing remain limited, family sources indicate that she died in the early hours of August 7, 2025. The Manhyia Palace is expected to officially announce her death and release funeral arrangements after all traditional rites and protocols associated with royal departures have been fulfilled.
