Ghanaian comedian OB Amponsah has achieved a significant career milestone, winning the 2025 Ultimate Comic Challenge at The Idiot Box Comedy Club in Greensboro, North Carolina.
The grand finale featured some of the region’s finest comedic talents, with OB clinching the top spot ahead of runner-up Seth Payne and third-place finisher Jay Stadler.
Sharing his excitement on social media, OB wrote: “Holy smokes! We won gold! God is good! I am the Ultimate Comic. Can you believe that? Damnnn!” He expressed heartfelt gratitude to the competition’s organizers, fellow contestants, and the Greensboro comedy audience for their warm reception. Describing the victory as “surreal” and himself as “beyond ecstatic,” he also thanked club owner Jennie Stencel for her encouragement throughout the contest.
OB noted that performing alongside finalists Seth, Troy, Artsy, Ethan, and Jay Stadler was an honour, adding that the experience would forever remain a cherished highlight in his comedy career.
