Excitement is mounting for the upcoming 2025 Guinness Ghana DJ Awards, powered by Smirnoff, with the official confirmation that celebrated Dancehall icon Samini will take the stage at this year’s event.

The announcement came from DJ Bridash, a close associate of Samini and presenter at Hitz FM, during a live segment of Cruise Control with Merqury Quaye on Thursday, July 24.
“Officially, Samini will be performing at this year’s Guinness Ghana DJ Awards,” Bridash revealed, suggesting what many expect to be one of the night’s standout performances.
DJ Bridash also noted that Samini’s team is already working with event organizers to ensure a smooth and impactful performance. He encouraged all parties involved to submit promotional materials promptly, highlighting the team’s commitment to full collaboration.
Samini’s participation adds even more buzz to the highly anticipated 13th edition of the awards, themed “Shake the Floor.” Set to take place on November 29, the 2025 edition promises an electrifying blend of DJ excellence, music, live performances, and creative innovation.
The announcement follows a successful launch event held on July 19 at Luna Rooftop Bar, Airport City, which brought together leading figures from Ghana’s entertainment, political, and media circles.
Distinguished guests such as Deputy CEO of the Ghana Tourism Authority, Gilbert Abeiku Aggrey ‘Santana’, Board Member Ahumah Bosco, actor Kalybos, music duo Keche, and producer MixMaster Garzy attended the launch, further elevating the event’s profile.
Over the years, the Guinness Ghana DJ Awards has become the largest platform in Africa dedicated to celebrating DJs — recognizing their artistry, influence, and critical role in shaping the continent’s music landscape.
With Samini now officially billed to perform, this year’s edition — which will air live on Joy Prime, Ghana’s top entertainment and lifestyle channel — is shaping up to be one of the most memorable in the event’s history. Audiences can expect not just awards and recognition, but powerful performances that affirm the event’s premier status in Ghana’s entertainment calendar.
