Ghana Chieftaincy Awards set to launch on July 17

The Ghana Chieftaincy Awards (GCA) will officially be launched on July 17, marking the beginning of a new chapter in traditional leadership that aligns cultural heritage with sustainable development, environmental advocacy, and inclusive investment.

The event is being organized by the Obokese Foundation in collaboration with The Black Star Experience, the National House of Chiefs, and Ram Media Concepts Ghana.

Under the theme “A United Front for Promotion of Environmental Awareness, Royal Investment, and Land Tenure System,” the GCA 2025 launch aims to spotlight the evolving role of chiefs and queen mothers—not only as cultural custodians but also as active agents of economic progress and community transformation.

At the partnership announcement with The Black Star Experience, Nana Obokese I, founder of the Obokese Foundation, shared the vision behind the initiative. He emphasized that the awards are designed to preserve Ghanaian traditions while driving meaningful social impact.

“Our goal is to preserve our heritage while creating lasting social change. With strong national support, this event will become a powerful space for dialogue, leadership, and unity,” Nana Obokese I stated.

He further called on traditional leaders to rise as champions of sustainability, community-driven development, and land governance reform.

A key component of the initiative is the Royal Investment Summit, which will run under the theme: “Bridging Tradition and Global Capital: Unlocking Regional Investment Opportunities in Ghana.”

The summit will connect Ghana’s 16 regions with global investors, showcasing investment-ready opportunities in sectors such as tourism, infrastructure, and financial technology.

Rex Omar, Presidential Staffer for The Black Star Experience, noted that the summit offers a unique opportunity to present Ghanaian culture to an international audience.

“The summit is a powerful platform to showcase the richness of Ghanaian culture to the world,” he said.

The July 17 launch serves as a curtain-raiser to the main Ghana Chieftaincy Awards & Royal Investment Summit 2025, which will take place from October 3–4, 2025, in Kumasi.
