Accra has officially been announced as the host city for the highly anticipated FESTAC Africa Renaissance Festival 2025, scheduled to take place from 21st to 27th September 2025. The event is a collaboration between FESTAC AFRICA RENAISSANCE, the Ministry of Tourism, Ghana, and the Ghana Tourism Authority, with TV BRICS serving as the official media partner.

The festival seeks to foster continental unity and progress through culture, trade, tourism, health, climate action, and gender equity. The selected dates carry special meaning: September 21st marks the birthday of Ghana’s first President, Dr. Kwame Nkrumah, while September 27th aligns with World Tourism Day—symbolizing the fusion of heritage and future-focused development.
Under the theme “Harnessing Health, Culture, Trade, Climate Change, Gender Equity, and Tourism for Sustainable Economic Growth,” this year’s event is positioned as a strategic platform to promote collaboration and shared development goals among African nations.

Chairman of FESTAC AFRICA, Engr. Yinka Abioye, emphasized the festival’s continental importance: “FESTAC AFRICA 2025 is not just an event—it is the heartbeat of a rising continent. Ghana stands ready not only to host but to unite Africa in spirit, purpose, and pride. Ghana is the echo that will unite the continent.”
Echoing this sentiment, Maame Efua Houadjeto, CEO of the Ghana Tourism Authority, noted: “GTA is honoured to champion FESTAC AFRICA 2025. It will serve as a cultural and economic catalyst, advancing our tourism agenda and positioning Ghana as the cultural heartbeat of the continent.”
The week-long celebration is expected to attract significant attention across Africa and beyond, creating valuable opportunities for investment, partnerships, and cultural exchange that will fuel long-term growth and unity across the continent.
