Deputy CEO of the Ghana Tourism Authority (GTA), Abeiku Santana, has commended Lifestyle TV, a subsidiary of the Ghana Broadcasting Corporation (GBC), for launching TrekGh: The Western Experience—a thrilling tour designed to showcase Ghana’s stunning tourism destinations.

During an interview on GTV’s Breakfast Show, Mr. Santana reiterated the GTA’s strong support for the initiative and highlighted its significance in promoting domestic tourism and stimulating local economies.
“It is our duty to promote tourism in Ghana, and when private stakeholders take bold steps like this, we must support them,” he stated. “When Mr. Lomotey, the Marketing Director, approached us, we welcomed the idea. We even wrote to Intercity STC to secure a discount in support. The Ghana Tourism Authority is proudly associated with TrekGh, and we look forward to deepening this partnership.”
He emphasized that the initiative will have a direct positive impact on the economy of the Western Region.
“Think about it—over 50 or 60 people traveling to the region, spending money locally. This is how we grow the economy. The potential is massive.”
Mr. Santana also encouraged Ghanaians to take part in the tour, noting its blend of fun, relaxation, and networking.
“It’s an opportunity to unwind, connect with professionals, share ideas, and experience Ghana in a unique way.”
TrekGh: The Western Experience is scheduled for June 20–22, 2025, and promises an immersive escape into Ghana’s rich heritage, nature, and leisure scenes. Participants will lodge at the luxurious Maaha Beach Resort and explore captivating sites such as the mystical stilt village of Nzulezu, Fort Apollonia, and the tranquil Makarios Trail.
With its carefully curated travel experiences, TrekGh continues to redefine how both Ghanaians and international visitors experience the nation’s hidden gems.
