Minister Dzifa Gomashie Applauds Bee Arthur and Her Team for Turning Waste into Stunning Art

In a powerful celebration of creativity and sustainability, Minister of Tourism, Culture, and Creative Arts, Madam Abla Dzifa Gomashie, has commended the innovative work of Ghanaian artists turning waste into powerful artistic expressions.

At the opening of Echoes of the Landfill, a striking art exhibition held at the Museum of Science and Technology in Accra, the Minister lauded Beatrice “Bee” Arthur and her fellow artists for their ability to transform discarded materials—such as fishing nets and plastic bottles—into bold, thought-provoking art installations.

“This goes beyond art,” Madam Gomashie remarked. “It’s a wake-up call. These artists are using their creativity to reshape our perception of waste and inspire a cultural transformation.”

Running until July 5, 2025, the exhibition fuses environmental consciousness with artistic flair. It features vibrant installations and imaginative pieces that narrate stories of pollution, resilience, and renewal—crafted entirely from materials that would otherwise end up in landfills or pollute the ocean.

Renowned for her avant-garde and environmentally-conscious approach, Bee Arthur leads this powerful movement alongside fellow creatives Obed Addo, Essilfie Banton, Andrea Ghia, and Salim. Their unified message: Ghana’s waste crisis can fuel a wave of creative change.

“By working together, individuals can play a major role in reducing plastic waste and promoting a cleaner environment,” Bee Arthur noted.

Minister Gomashie emphasized that initiatives like Echoes of the Landfill have the potential to revolutionize not just environmental awareness but also Ghana’s creative industry.

“This is the future—where innovation, sustainability, and art converge,” she stated.

Drawing in students, art lovers, and environmental advocates, the exhibition is capturing wide attention for its stunning visuals and meaningful message. With the backing of cultural champions like Madam Gomashie, the movement to turn trash into treasure is gaining powerful traction.

If you’re seeking inspiration, education, and a visual experience worth sharing, Echoes of the Landfill is the perfect place where creativity meets climate action.
