Kofi Atta Kakra Kusi Honoured by TOUGHA

The Tour Operators Union of Ghana (TOUGHA) has honoured Kofi Atta Kakra Kusi, Deputy Director of Corporate Affairs at the Ghana Tourism Authority (GTA), in recognition of his outstanding contributions to Ghana’s tourism and corporate communication efforts.

The award was presented by Mrs. Alisa Osei-Asamoah, the immediate past president of TOUGHA, during a Thanksgiving Dinner held to commemorate the end of her four-year tenure.

Mr. Kusi received a glowing citation for his pivotal support in enhancing TOUGHA’s public image and expanding its institutional partnerships.

“Through your expertise and extensive media connections, you have significantly amplified TOUGHA’s visibility and highlighted our efforts across the industry. Your strategic media guidance has been instrumental in shaping positive narratives about our work,” the citation noted.

It continued:

“Beyond media support, your role at the Ghana Tourism Authority has been vital in forging strong collaborations with key institutions. Your counsel, professionalism, and dedication have supported not only me as president but the entire union.”

Mr. Kusi’s professional background blends academic achievement, public service, and tourism advocacy. An alumnus of Prempeh College, he holds a Bachelor of Arts in Philosophy from the University of Ghana, Legon, and a Master of Arts in Public Relations from the Ghana Institute of Journalism (now UNIMAC-GIJ). He also earned an MBA in Marketing from Methodist University College Ghana in 2022 and a Certificate in Tourism and Hospitality Management from the University of Johannesburg.

His service to the tourism industry spans more than a decade. From 2010 to 2014, he served as Board Secretary at the Ghana Tourism Authority and was Special Assistant to the late CEO, Mr. Charles Osei Bonsu, from 2014 to 2017. He became Deputy Head of Corporate Affairs in 2018 and was later appointed Deputy Director, Domestic Marketing, in early 2024.

Beyond his administrative roles, Kofi Atta Kakra Kusi is known for his Pan-African ideals and his role in shaping national tourism discourse. He has served on several national committees and continues to contribute to the strategic growth of Ghana’s tourism industry.
