Latif Abubakar, CEO of Globe Productions, is set to launch his 20th theatre production titled ‘Ghana Must Go’. The play is produced in partnership with the Ministry of Tourism, Arts and Culture and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs. It forms a key part of the Black Star Experience under the government’s Big Push Ghana Project, a global initiative to promote investment and tourism through theatre.

At the launch event on May 15, 2025, at the Pelican Hotel in Accra, Abubakar reflected on Globe Productions’ 15-year journey. He highlighted their 19 previous plays, which have reached and inspired audiences around the world. According to him, ‘Ghana Must Go’ is a milestone that captures Ghana’s identity, potential, and the reasons why the world should explore and invest in the country.

In 2024, Globe Productions made history with a sold-out performance in Madrid, attended by 29 ambassadors. The team also broke ground during the COVID-19 pandemic by producing the world’s first virtual play on the topic, which garnered over 3.5 million global views.

More than just a performance, ‘Ghana Must Go’ is positioned as a cultural and economic campaign. It aims to attract at least 2,000 potential investors and tourists in each tour city, including Kenya, Qatar, the USA, UK, and South Africa.
Notable guests at the launch included Tourism Minister Hon. Abla Dzifa Gomashie, GJA President Albert Kwabena Dwumfour, and representatives from the Ghana Tourism Authority and arts community.
The play will debut at the Accra International Conference Centre on May 24 and 25, 2025, with showings at 4 PM and 8 PM daily
