Ghana-Singapore Visa Waiver Agreement Continues: Strengthened Cooperation 2025

Minister of Foreign Affairs, Samuel Okudzeto Ablakwa, has announced that Ghana and Singapore have agreed to uphold their existing Visa Waiver Agreement.

Minister of Foreign Affairs Samuel Okudzeto Ablakwa meeting with Singapore High Commissioner, discussing the continuation of the Visa Waiver Agreement and deepened cooperation between the two countries.

According to him, both countries have also committed to strengthening bilateral ties, with a focus on trade, skills development, and information technology.

He made this known in a post on his X page following a meeting with the High Commissioner of Singapore to Ghana, His Excellency Hawazi Daipi.

“It was truly an honour to meet with the High Commissioner of Singapore to Ghana, His Excellency Hawazi Daipi,” he shared.

He added, “It is encouraging to note that Ghana and Singapore will continue to maintain our Visa Waiver Agreement. We have also agreed to enhance our cooperation, especially in areas such as trade, skills education, and IT.”

Mr. Ablakwa also expressed gratitude to the High Commissioner on behalf of President John Mahama and the people of Ghana for the official invitation extended by Singapore’s President, H.E. Tharman Shanmugaratnam, for a state visit.

“These are indeed promising times for Ghana-Singapore relations,” he emphasized.
