Forget the TGMAs and Grammys — “Iron Boy” is all the validation I need, says Black Sherif.

Black Sherif says his latest album, Iron Boy, is all the validation he truly seeks — not a Grammy or even the Telecel Ghana Music Awards (TGMA) Artiste of the Year title.

Despite being a strong contender in Ghana’s music scene, the 23-year-old rapper and singer insists that his success isn’t defined by trophies. In an exclusive interview with Graphic Showbiz on Wednesday, April 9, Black Sherif expressed that Iron Boy captures the heart and soul of his journey, making it the most significant achievement of his career so far.

Iron Boy is the biggest thing to ever happen to me. It’s my heart, my soul, my story—this is the medium I’m using to speak right now. Everything else is just a bonus,” he shared.

While he acknowledges the importance of accolades, Black Sherif emphasized that his focus is now on legacy. According to him, Iron Boy, released on April 3, 2025, serves as his loudest voice to the world and represents the true essence of Ghanaian music.

“This album is my truth. It reflects my journey — from my early struggles to where I am now. My emotions, faith, victories, and doubts are all in it. That’s what makes it more validating to me than any award,” he added.

Born and raised in Konongo Zongo in Ghana’s Ashanti Region, Black Sherif views Iron Boy not just as a project, but as a legacy in the making. The 15-track album dives deep into his growth, challenges, and triumphs — a raw and deeply personal reflection of his life.
