Delta enhances connectivity to Ghana with new Accra-Atlanta route

Delta Air Lines is thrilled to announce the launch of a seasonal daily nonstop service between Accra and Atlanta, starting December 1, 2025. This expansion underscores Delta’s strong commitment to the Ghanaian market and responds to the growing demand for seamless travel between Ghana and the U.S., particularly during the peak December-January holiday season when many Ghanaians reunite with loved ones.

Having proudly served Ghana since 2006, Delta has flown over 7.5 million customers across its African routes. With this new addition, Delta will operate two direct routes to Accra: the year-round daily flights from New York-JFK and the newly introduced seasonal flights from Atlanta.

“We understand how important it is for families and friends to stay connected, and this additional flight ensures that more Ghanaians can easily reach their loved ones while enjoying world-class service,” said Matteo Curcio, Senior Vice President for Europe, the Middle East, Africa, and India at Delta.

“Our new Atlanta-Accra service reflects our ongoing commitment to providing Ghanaian travelers with more choices, convenience, and premium experiences,” he added.

State-of-the-Art Comfort on the Airbus A330-900neo

The Accra-Atlanta route will be served by Delta’s Airbus A330-900neo, an aircraft already highly rated by Ghanaian travelers. The A330-900neo features:

  • Delta One Suites, offering private, luxurious spaces
  • Delta Premium Select, providing enhanced comfort for long-haul flights
  • Delta Comfort+, offering extra legroom for added convenience
  • Main Cabin seating, designed for a superior travel experience

Customer feedback from Delta’s New York-Accra route played a key role in selecting this modern aircraft for the Atlanta-Accra service, ensuring passengers enjoy an upgraded onboard experience with next-generation comfort and cutting-edge in-flight entertainment.

Connecting Ghana to the World

Delta’s Atlanta hub, the world’s largest airport, offers seamless connections to over 215 destinations globally. This new route will provide Ghanaian travelers with greater flexibility and easier access to major U.S. cities such as Washington, D.C., Chicago, Los Angeles, and Houston, simplifying both business and leisure travel.

Expanding its presence in Africa, Delta is also launching its first-ever nonstop flight from Atlanta to Marrakech, Morocco, beginning October 25, 2025.

Investing in a Superior Travel Experience

To enhance customer satisfaction, Delta is investing in its Atlanta hub, including:

  • A new 24,000-square-foot Delta Sky Club on Concourse D, featuring panoramic views and premium amenities
  • Upgraded Sky Clubs on Concourses A and C for enhanced comfort
  • Concourse D expansion to improve passenger flow and increase gate capacity
  • Delta Digital ID for seamless security and baggage drop, eliminating the need for physical IDs or boarding passes
  • Free Wi-Fi expansion to international routes in West Africa, including Lagos, Dakar, and Accra, rolling out in the coming weeks

With these enhancements and the introduction of the Accra-Atlanta route, Delta strengthens its position as the leading airline connecting Ghana and the U.S., offering unmatched service, comfort, and global connectivity.
