News of the tragic incident gained widespread attention when Judith Addison, founder of Beyond Burns International—a non-profit organization dedicated to advocating for and supporting burn survivors—disclosed the severity of his condition and appealed for public assistance for his medical care.
In a video shared on social media, Judith Addison stated, “Beyond Burns International received an SOS about an unfortunate incident. We visited the hospital today and found that veteran actor Mawuli Semevo has suffered a severe fire accident. His condition is critical, and his life is hanging in the balance.”
She further revealed that he has sustained burns covering 44% of his body, suffered respiratory injuries, and is struggling to breathe properly. “From his head to his legs, everywhere caught fire, and he has lost all his hair,” she added.
Actress Edinam Atatsi confirmed the accident today, noting that while Semevo’s condition remains serious, he is currently stable and receiving medical care.
She also made an appeal for public support, providing a MoMo number (0538408027) registered under the name Comfort Bawuah Sam for donations.
“We kindly ask that you add your name when making donations so we can acknowledge your support. Thank you for helping our brother. God bless you,” she stated.
