Bessa Simons and Naa Agyeman set to headline AdinkraFest in Toronto

The highly anticipated AdinkraFest, a premier music and cultural festival, has unveiled renowned Ghanaian highlife icons Bessa Simons and Naa Agyeman as the headline performers for the event.

Scheduled to take place in Toronto, Canada, from April 16 to April 19, 2025, AdinkraFest is set to attract key figures from Ghana’s and Canada’s music and cultural industries.

Bessa Simons and Naa Agyeman will take the stage alongside a lineup of carefully selected local acts, promising an electrifying experience for music lovers.

Beyond the entertainment, AdinkraFest will showcase Ghana’s tourism, arts, culture, trade, and investment opportunities, featuring a diverse range of captivating events. Designed as a family-friendly festival, it will offer activities tailored to all age groups.

The festival’s core objective is to promote Ghanaian music, culture, tourism, and fashion on a global stage. With an expected audience of over 10,000 attendees from the UK, Europe, the US, and the Caribbean, the event aims to foster cross-cultural connections.

Alongside Bessa Simons, other confirmed performers include Naa Agyeman, Yaw Stone, Leon Jones, and Shebre Music and Culture Group, among others.

The festival is being organized by Adinkra Promotion in collaboration with Adinkra Enterprise, the Musicians Union of Ghana (MUSIGA), Maxx Energy, Ghana Tourism Authority (GTA), and Yifan Business Services.

Attendees can look forward to a vibrant program featuring a durbar of chiefs, cultural dance performances, live music, children’s activities, and a fashion show.

With Bessa Simons and Naa Agyeman leading the charge, the festival promises an unforgettable night of music and celebration for fans eager to witness these stars perform live.

Speaking on the event, Joseph Adinkra, CEO of Adinkra Promotions, highlighted the festival’s ability to attract high-profile personalities, celebrities, entertainers, traditional rulers, and cultural exhibitors.

He emphasized that AdinkraFest provides a unique platform for artists to showcase Ghanaian music to the diaspora, adding that the festival offers more than just entertainment—it presents an opportunity to experience Ghanaian music, cuisine, dance, arts, and a business expo, allowing Ghanaian entrepreneurs to engage with the diaspora and promote investment in Ghana’s economy.

He called for the support of all stakeholders in music, tourism, and culture to ensure the success of AdinkraFest. Additionally, he underscored the importance of recognizing tourism, music, and culture as key revenue-generating sectors for Ghana.
