The Ghana Tourism Authority (GTA) will host the 2024 edition of the National Tourism Awards on Friday, October 25, at Osu Castle. Organized under the Ministry of Tourism, Arts, and Culture, the event highlights the theme: “Sustaining Tourism Growth: The Role of the Private Sector.” Approximately 400 guests, including industry professionals and key players from hotels, travel agencies, and car rental services, will attend.
Leading up to the event, Regional Tourism Awards were held across Ghana between September 13 and 28, 2024. The national ceremony will present a total of 38 awards: 29 Competitive, 7 Honorary, and 2 Special Mention Awards. Categories will cover areas such as Accommodation, Catering, Travel, Media, Events, and Corporate Organizations of the Year. The Honorary Awards will recognize individuals for their exceptional contributions to Ghana’s tourism sector.
Since its inception in 1997, the National Tourism Awards have been an avenue to reward excellence and encourage higher standards of service delivery in the tourism industry. The awards also promote healthy competition, aiming to enhance Ghana’s status as a top tourist destination and reinforce tourism as a significant economic sector.
The ceremony will be attended by dignitaries, including Ministers of State, Members of Parliament, diplomats, and representatives from government agencies and the business community.
