On World Tourism Day, Minister of Tourism, Arts, and Culture, Andrew Egyapa Mercer, revealed the inaugural Creative Arts Hall of Fame in Sekondi, marking a significant occasion.
This special celebration honours Sekondi’s rich cultural heritage as a centre for music and recognizes the remarkable individuals who have influenced Ghana’s creative industry. Situated in Duawusu in Asamansudu, a neighbourhood of Sekondi, the Hall has historical significance as the birthplace of numerous Ghanaian music icons. Following the example of prestigious establishments worldwide, the Creative Arts Hall of Fame acknowledges the lifetime accomplishments of trailblazers in the creative arts. Minister Egyapa Mercer emphasized, “These halls of fame serve as evidence of the influence of creativity in shaping our world and propelling economic development.”
