The topic of discussion during the breakfast and the round table that followed was “Nurturing Strength in Diversity – Building the Capacity of Women Entrepreneurs in Trade and Tourism.”
Entering the stage, Mr. Akwasi Agyeman, CEO of the Ghana tourist Authority, stated that the goal of the breakfast meeting was to commemorate December in Ghana. This decision was made in collaboration with prominent women in the tourist industry and the Ghana Enterprise Agency.
The purpose was to bring together women for a stimulating roundtable discussion with a deliberate focus on women’s empowerment, including local and diaspora women.
The CEO expressed gratitude to CEO Mrs. Kosi Yankey-Ayeh and commended the Ghana Enterprise Agency’s crucial involvement in this successful relationship, highlighting their shared commitment to boosting women in commerce and tourism.
The CEO went on to emphasize the importance of the round table and its goal of identifying opportunities for empowerment and cooperation.
Regina Martins, Vice Mayor of North Lauderdale, Miami, Florida, USA, and Ambassador Nancy Sam, Tourism Ambassador of Miami Dade County, USA, were among the dignitaries who graced the podium. Moreover, the invaluable presence of Hon. Dr. Ann Marie Sorrell, Chair of the Palm Beach Soil & Water Conservation District, HE Dean Roberts Jr., appointed by President Biden as Commissioner for Continental International Governance and Peace, DR. Arko Elizabeth, UN Diplomat on Special Matters, and Vice President of the ECOWAS Tourism Private Sector, Confederation Copitur, Cederao, enhanced the proceedings.
The importance of the Queen Mothers Foundation’s role in grassroots activities and their attempts to bring the tourism industry together were acknowledged. They received the appropriate recognition and celebration for their contribution to the authority’s wider objective of promoting female togetherness.
