The 2025 edition of the Asogli Te Za (Yam Festival) has been officially launched in Ho, marked by vibrant cultural displays and a spirit of celebration.

This year’s festival is being celebrated under the theme:
“Together in Honesty and Purpose, We Build a Just, Peaceful, and Prosperous Nation.”
Launching the event, Volta Regional Minister James Gunu praised the people of Asogli for their warm hospitality and inclusiveness. He noted that such values make the area ideal for development and social harmony.

He highlighted how settler communities such as Anlo-Kodzo, Anago-Kodzi, Kable-Kodzi, and the Zongo have long integrated peacefully into Asogli society, reflecting a model of unity in diversity.
“This peaceful coexistence is commendable and should serve as an example for others to emulate,” he remarked.

Gunu further encouraged the people to safeguard the peace in the region, stating that it is essential for accelerated development. He emphasized that Te Za draws not only Ghanaians from other regions but also international visitors, enhancing the region’s appeal for tourism and commerce.
During the festivities, Ho Municipal Chief Executive Stephen Adom joined in the celebration, participating in a lively Borborbor dance session with local women, adding excitement to the launch.
On his part, Togbe Adzie Lakle XII, War Lord of Asogli, called on the youth to maintain discipline throughout the festival to preserve the reputation of Asogli before both local and foreign guests.
The Asogli State comprises the towns of Ho, Kpenoe, Takla, and Akoefe, all of which will play key roles in this year’s celebrations.
