The Ghana Tourism Authority (GTA) has announced that the 2024 Kwahu Paragliding Festival had a record-breaking attendance of 7,463 individuals.
According to the Authority, this is a 49% increase in attendance from the prior year.
According to a press statement dated April 3, the GTA noted that the festival, which ran from March 29 to April 1st, 2024, astonished onlookers with 138 tandem and 24 solo flights.
“Throughout the Festival, seven skilled tandem pilots from various nations, including the United States, Japan, Peru, Ghana, and Germany, took passengers on thrilling flights across the skies. “Notably, Ghanaian Solo Pilot Isaac Mensah achieved a personal milestone with his first successful Solo flight, soaring from the Odweanoma Mountain to touch down safely at the Nkwakwa Stadium,” the announcement went on to say.
The GTA feels that the paragliding festival’s expanding popularity has had a substantial impact on the local tourism and hospitality value chain, as well as the economy.
